Mosquito Services

posted Apr 19, 2013, 5:47 AM by Diane Heinz
We will be using a mosquito service this spring/summer to try and tackle the mosquito issue we have in the community.  Hopefully we will all be able to cook outside, enjoy our decks, patios, backyards, playground, and community areas!!  If successful, we may choose to do this every year.  This is going to require some cooperation of the entire community as we will need gates to be left open and animals to be left inside on the day of spraying.  The board will send out email reminders and post reminder signs on the mailboxes.  If for some reason you do not leave your gate open (or you have an animal outside), your house will not be treated until the next scheduled visit.  For the benefit of you and your neighbors, please try and remember (or give us permission to open your gates by sending the board an email).

The spray formula that will be used is safe for children and pets, and won't harm beneficial insects such as honeybees, ladybugs, and butterflies.  It will be done every 3 weeks from April - September.  Please contact admin@oaktoncommons.com with questions and concerns or to add your email/contact information to the list.
